I am now using openbox, all by itself, without panels, icon/desktop managers, etc. Just openbox...a little conky script on the bottom of the screen to monitor a few system stats (cpu/ram/swap, procs, net) and a clock. I use tile to tile windows for some purposes, and control most everything via keyboard. It's working nicely. My rc.xml
